Skybox Seating Available for Finals Weekend

STANFORD, Calif. (www.BankOfTheWestClassic.com) – The 2008 Bank of the West Classic, the longest-running women-only professional tennis tournament in the world, is now offering tennis fans the opportunity to purchase individual Skybox seats for the tournament’s Championship weekend, July 18-20.

Skybox seating is only available for Sessions 9-13 and includes covered seating, food and beverages available for purchase, and a suite attendant to assist you with your needs.

Individual session skybox seats are $77 per person for Friday, July 18 (Sessions 9-10), $85 per person for Saturday, July 19 (Session 11-12), and $90 per person for Sunday’s final (Session 13).

The 2008 Bank of the West Classic will take place July 14-20 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on the campus of Stanford University.

This year’s tournament field is shaping up to be the strongest since 2002 with four of the top-10 players in the world scheduled to attend including eight-time Grand Slam Champion Serena Williams.

The impressive field also features world No. 5 Elena Dementieva, world No. 8 and defending Bank of the West Classic Champion Anna Chakvetadze, world No .10 and 2007 Wimbledon finalist Marion Bartoli, former World No. 1 and three-time Grand Slam Champion Lindsay Davenport, 2007 Bank of the West Classic finalist Sania Mirza, former World No. 3 and seven-time Tour winner Nadia Petrova, 10-time Tour winner Patty Schnyder, three-time Tour winner and two-time defending Bank of the West Classic doubles champion Shahar Peer, six-time Tour winner Ai Sugiyama and Chinese star Li Na.

A Sony Ericsson WTA Tour event, the Bank of the West Classic features a 28-player singles draw as well as a 16-team doubles draw. The event is owned and operated by IMG and serves as the opening women's event of the Olympus US Open Series.

The list of past champions of the event reads like a Who's Who of women's tennis including Lindsay Davenport, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Andrea Jaeger, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis, Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters and Anna Chakvetadze.
