Harper for Kids Family Day!

Inch and Miles Sportsmanship Tennis Festival

Join the fun on Saturday, July 31st

The Bank of the West Classic is proud to partner with Harper for Kids (www.harperforkids.org), a nonprofit organization based out of San Francisco, CA. Their Inch and Miles Sportmanship Tennis Festival program teaches children the importance of life skills through the sport of tennis and legendary UCLA Coach John Wooden’s children’s book “Inch and Miles”. Coach Wooden taught leadership and achievement through the “pyramid of success” and Harper for Kids is passing along his wisdom.

As coach Wooden said, “Success is happiness in your heart, because you made the effort, 100%, to do your best!”

Children will be taught by Harper for Kids tennis coaches and will go through a series of games and tennis drills with mini tennis nets. Thanks to Perfection Learning, each participant will also receive their personal copy of Inch and Miles: The Journey to Success (www.perfectionlearning.com)!!

This year’s Bank of the West Classic boasts an exceptionally strong player field as it features 12 players ranked among the top 30 in the world, including three-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova, 2008 Olympic Gold medalist Elena Dementieva, 2010 French Open finalist Samantha Stosur, and the return of former world No. 1 Lindsay Davenport.
