Lindsay Davenport Joins Bank of the West Classic Player Field
STANFORD, CA (www.BankOfTheWestClassic.com) – Three-time Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medalist Lindsay Davenport will be returning to the Bank of the West Classic in 2010.
Davenport, one of the greatest American tennis players in history, has won 55 career Sony Ericsson WTA Tour singles titles including Grand Slam championships at US Open (1998), Wimbledon (1999) and Australian Open (2000).
At the 2010 Bank of the West Classic, Davenport will be playing doubles with compatriot and four-time Grand Slam doubles champion Liezel Huber. Davenport, formerly ranked No. 1 in the world, has not played in a tournament since the 2008 U.S. Open.
Davenport has won the Bank of the West Classic five times in doubles and three times in singles, but has not played in the doubles draw since she won it with Corina Morariu in 1999.
Furthermore, the 2010 Bank of the West Classic player field becomes even more impressive with the additions of world No. 8 Agnieszka Radwańska, world No. 14 Shahar Peer, 2009 U.S. Open semifinalist Yanina Wickmayer, world No. 28 Maria Kirilenko and rising American star Melanie Oudin.
Including three-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova, world No. 5 Elena Dementieva and defending champion Marion Bartoli, the 2010 Bank of the West Classic player field now boasts nine of the top thirty players in the world.

The event will be held July 26-August 1 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on the campus of Stanford University
Single-session tickets for the tournament's opening round start at just $26.
Full-week packages start at just $575 and include tickets to all 13 sessions, a pass to the exclusive Grand Marnier Plaza Club and an invitation to the Meet the Players Party. Those who purchase a pair of seats will also receive a weeklong VIP parking pass and a Bank of the West Classic Tournament program.

The Bank of the West Classic, a Sony Ericsson WTA Tour premier event, is now in its 40th year and features a 30-player singles draw as well as a 16-team doubles draw. The event is owned and operated by IMG and serves as the opening women's event of the Olympus US Open Series.
