Want to be a ball person at the Bank of the West Classic?

The 2010 Bank of the West Classic is looking for ball people. The tournament will be held July 24 – August 1 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on the campus of Stanford University. Here are a list of requirements:

  • Ballperson must be at least 12 years old by August 1, 2010
  • Must participate in and successfully complete one of the Ballperson Training Clinics (June 26, July 10 or July 17)
  • Must work at least one (1) morning or afternoon shift on Saturday, July 24 or Sunday, July 25
  • Must work at least three (3) shifts between Monday, July 26-Friday, July 30
  • Ballpersons for the semifinals and finals will be selected on Thursday, July 29

The Bank of the West Classic will provide each ballperson with the following:

  • FILA Uniform -tournament shirt, shorts, hat & sweatshirt or jacket (for evening shift work)
  • Meals and drinks for shift worked
  • 1 ticket for each session worked, for a parent or friend

To register as a ballperson, please complete all the required fields with the online registration. Please register for all the shifts you can work as a ballperson. Once you have completed the registration, you will immediately receive a confirmation of your registration.

The Ballperson Coordinators will notify you of the training clinics to be held in June & July and will send you your final schedule no later than July 10 and inform you of the required training sessions locations and details.

2011 Champions Crowned

The 2011 Bank of the West Classic came to a finish on Sunday, with Serena Williams defeating Marion Bartoli 7-5, 6-1 to claim her first Bank of the West Classic Singles title.  Victoria Azarenka and Maria Kirlikeno beat the American duo of Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond 6-1, 6-3 earning the 2011 Doubles title. Click here to read more.
